In celebration of all things made in Australia, we joined other businesses promoting Australian Made Week, by highlighting our client, adventure plus, and the exciting playground carousel range we designed and engineered for them.
adventure plus carousels and spinners have the added Aussie benefit of also being designed in Australia. Our team collaborated with adventure plus to create playground equipment that could be made locally and perform better than competitor products.
Carousels and spinners are an integral feature of adventure plus’s playground builds for public parks around Australia. Their range includes a single person spinner and multi-person carousels, one with a central handle to drive the rotation, and one without.
outerspace designers and mechanical engineers created three new colourful and playful styles to add to their product range. The equipment designs maximize the number of ways a person can engage with a spinner or carousel, with panels formed from high density polyethylene supported by rugged steel. From conceptual design through to ergonomic analysis and human scale research, our designers targeted in on the most exciting ideas to develop.
Playground products need to be safe and engaging for a large range of human sizes and physical abilities. Our engineers detailed the structural elements and bearing housing design and specification.
Working in 2D and 3D CAD, they supported the production process. The team made sure the design outcomes met adventure plus’s cost-of-product and manufacturing requirements.
Schools, local government, early learning centres, tourist park owners, developers and landscape architects rely on adventure plus to provide high-quality equipment, innovative playground design and installation that exceeds current Australian Standards.
adventure plus has been making Aussie playgrounds fun for the last forty years. We loved working with their team on the Orbit and Gforce Carousels and Comet Spinner.
Making sure playtime outdoors is fun and safe for children of all ages is a game changer!

Since 1983, adventure plus has helped thousands of children enjoy creative, safe and challenging playground experiences.
We conducted an Australian Standards review. The industrial design and mechanical engineering team ensured the designs were robust, safe and reliable.
