  • Can you create an
    approachable trolley, for
    a wide range of medical
    devices, that doesn't
    break the bank?
  • Compumedics has a large portfolio of sleep, neurology and cardiology monitoring and diagnostic equipment that must work together in different configurations.
EEG monitoring in particular requires dozens of wires that need to be managed.
  • To truly understand the product context, we visited a hospital to observe and interact with carers and patients.
These valuable insights and opportunities allowed us to build a solid foundation for the design brief based on actual wants and needs of the user.
  • We wanted to make the trolley less imposing for the patient and easier to use for the staff.
Children in particular can be anxious in the unfamiliar setting. This is made worse by monitoring that drags on for days, while tethered to medical devices, waiting for an incident to record.
  • We created an integrated aesthetic between the ‘Neuvo’ trolley and the existing Compumedics medical devices.
The trolley has a small footprint for manoeuvrability in tight spaces. Components are lightweight, and the cast metal base is durable and stable.
Rather than the usual rectangular trolley format, we established a softer, curved visual language that is friendly and functional.
  • Articulating arm
Where appropriate, off-the-shelf parts were selected to save time and cost.
    Extruded aluminium chassis
    Locking swivel castors
  • LCD display for realtime multi-channel signal output
Scratch-resistant keyboard shelf with metal handle and accessories drawer
    Safety power supply
    Central cable management channel
    Signal processor
EEG (brain signal) amplifier and recorder
  • Equipment can be mounted to the chassis and tethered to wearable monitors.
The versatile trolley is also reconfigurable for portable or permanent wall-mount installations.
  • The Neuvo trolley has vastly increased usability for patient and clinician, helping to improve diagnostic efficiency and user experience in clinics around the world.
Clinician can monitor the recordings and communicate with the patient.
With the Neuvo trolley, the equipment can come to the patient, so they can remain comfotable and relaxed.
