We design and engineer products that protect and preserve our natural environment. We collaborate with our clients to build systems and products that are used and installed in rugged, outdoor and extreme weather locations.

We understand the unique aspects of technology that are applied to agricultural and natural environments. The agricultural industry is constantly looking for products and systems that improve productivity and efficiency, while keeping workers, livestock, crops and wildlife safe.

We work with new technologies and systems that improve food security. outerspace has developed systems to align with animal behaviour management and care; harvesting equipment and processes; and products and systems that are replacing those that use harmful chemicals and toxic processes. We support sustainable farming practices and work with businesses and organisations to improve the ways we farm, protect our resources and the environment.

We understand how to engineer products for tough outdoor applications, to survive extreme weather conditions and be rugged enough to function optimally no matter what the weather or rugged environment demands.

Micro water treatment plant

Many communities in remote regions lack reliable access to clean drinking water, relying instead on unsafe or expensive systems. Water Source Australia set out to change this with Brolga, a remote-controlled micro water treatment plant designed to provide safe, continuous drinking water anywhere in the world.

Outerspace partnered with Water Source to take an early-stage prototype and transform it into a manufacturable product. Our role included developing the architecture, electronics, firmware, and mechanical systems, while working closely with Water Source’s software and water treatment experts. Together, we shaped a system capable of producing up to 30,000 litres of safe drinking water a day, suitable for installation in the toughest environments.

Robust Vehicle Mounted WiFi hotspot

Farmers, agricultural businesses, and rural residents often struggle with poor internet coverage, limiting productivity, connectivity, and access to digital tools. Zetifi, a leader in rural connectivity solutions, wanted to expand their offering with a roaming WiFi hotspot device that could be vehicle-mounted, flexible, and robust enough to work in remote environments.

Outerspace partnered with Zetifi to refine and engineer this product into a manufacturable solution. Starting from Zetifi’s initial hardware outline, we worked collaboratively to define requirements, balance cost versus features, and create a system that could deliver reliable connectivity across a wide range of rural applications.
