Challenge

A maker-market product for a mainstream audience

Light My Bricks had built its business on lighting accessories sold to hobbyists comfortable with soldering and wiring. Night Mode asked for the opposite: a lighting system simple enough for a first-time buyer to add to any build, without instructions turning into an electronics course.

Docks that only fit one way

Our engineering team designed a micro-controlled two-stack PCB inside a standard 3x3 LEGO® footprint, small enough to sit inside a build without stealing space from it. An STM32 controller runs the lighting effects, from flickering fire to emergency strobe, adjustable across three speeds. To distribute power safely, we designed fused connector docks shaped so a cable physically cannot be plugged into the wrong port.

Outcome

Night Mode shipped as a full product family, including the Eclipse cable clip and Flux battery pack, giving Light My Bricks a consumer-friendly range built for builders who had never touched a soldering iron.
